Nell – the Flannel Flower Fairy

Hello, I’m Nell the Flannel Flower Fairy! I look after the flannel plants in the Australian Bush. My flowers love the springtime, and bloom the most in spring like so many other wildflowers, but flannel flowers can actually bloom all year around depending on the weather. Have you seen a flannel flower before? They are small like a daisy, and their petals are velvety soft like bunny rabbit ears, I like to feel them under my feet as I sit on the branches of the flannel plant.

There are a few different types of flannel flowers including a pink one and a dwarf one, but the one I’m sitting on is simply known as a flannel flower and it is a creamy white colour. It is a small shrub and can grow up to 1 m, so it’s not big like a tree, maybe even you’re taller than it! It grows in sandy spots and loves rocky sandstone areas and being close to the coast and beaches along the eastern side of Australia.
